Measuring Tips

Here are some tips to help you order the correct size. If you don't have a measuring tape, no problem! Use a piece of string or ribbon to mark the measurement and then hold it alongside a ruler or yard stick to find the measurement.

Head Circumference

Measure around your head just above your ears angling slightly up across your forehead to get your full head circumference.

Bust

Lift your arms slightly and measure around your body (without a shirt is best), crossing over the fullest part of your chest.

Chest

Lift your arms slightly and measure around your body (without a shirt is best), crossing over the fullest part of your chest.

Waist

Measure around the natural waist, where you normally wear your pants, shorts or skirt.

Waist

Measure around your waist where your pants or shorts usually fall.

Hip

Stand with your heels together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Seat

Stand with your heels together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Arm Length

With your arm bent at 90 degrees, place your hand on your hip. Measure from the back of your neck to your shoulder, elbow, and wrist.

Foot Length

Lay a ruler or yardstick on the ground and stand with your heel positioned at “zero”. Measure the full foot length from heel to the end of your big toe. If you have a second ruler, its handy to use the second ruler to make sure your heel aligns perpendicular to “zero” and big toe aligns perpendicular to the final foot length measurement

Let me preface this by saying I have purchased plenty of items for myself and my two tots from uv skinz and have enjoyed them all. This piece wasn’t a win for me though, and unfortunately I tore off the tag and threw it in the wash before I inspected it and tried it on so returning is not an option. The fit isn’t that flattering, hard to explain. It is an empire waist and I have a small chest but it’s still odd fitting. I also am not a fan of the fabric at all. Even though this particular piece wasn’t for me, I 100% will still give this company my business.

Very nice coverup

The dress is comfy and roomy. I didn’t give it five stars because there was a gap of several inches in the left side seam of the dress. It was easier and faster for me to sew up the gap myself than to go through the exchange process. I received a Baby Shirt with my dress, which was a nice perk!

Casual Comfortable Style

The maxi cover-up is comfortable and stylish. I have worn this to a couple of music festivals. It was great to keep cool and be protected from the sun. I did have to shorten the dress as I am 4' 11". I would love to see this style in your new Liquid Marble pattern. I think that pattern in this maxi would be a great retro vibe.

perfection!

Took a chance buying this on final sale, but I'm so glad I did! Material is comfortable and super flattering (nice and substantial, not like other flimsy summer dresses that show every imperfection) and beautiful pattern/ colors (I was concerned that the coral would be too pink for me, but it isn't - it's true to the picture). I'm 5'3 small build and the XS is a perfect fit, and the high waist is perfect for my little 2nd trimester belly just starting to peek out. Maybe it's because of my belly, but I don't even have to hem it - the length is just down to my toes without touching the floor. Back today to pick another color!

A bit unflattering

My true size is M but I often order a S in dresses that have a loose hip (measurements are 35"B, 30"W, 40"H, 5'6" tall). The small is a little short for me and the waist detail hits high; I think it's supposed to be below the bust instead of at the natural waist, even in the right size. I would recommend ordering your true size for this dress instead of sizing up or down. The fabric is relatively stiff since it is water-resistant for the beach. Combined with the modest cut and the black color, it's giving matronly. I bet this dress would work great for someone with a more modest style sense or a bigger bust. I would order in bright colors only.
