Letter To Darren

Today marks the time in my year where I do a lot of reflection as today is Darren’s birthday. He would be 45 years old this year.

Sometimes my reflections take me back to the days when we were in our twenties, when we ventured into the pleasant abyss of starting our new family and having our three little boys: Ethan, Seth and Caleb. What great memories I have of those early years! Other times my thoughts wander into the ‘what if’s’. What if Darren were still here, watching these three amazing boys he helped bring into the world grow up, and helping to raise and support them through all of life’s joys, trials and tribulations? What a year we have had… Ethan, our oldest, graduated from high school and is heading off to the University of Hawaii to study business and Caleb, our youngest, graduated 8th grade and is entering the last four years of the schooling journey at home. And Seth, always standing tall and upright, will venture into his junior year of high school. They are forging their own paths in life, starting to ‘write their own stories’. They are AMAZING kids and I know Darren would be so proud of them!
